Use of Fairy Tales: The overall creator of Shrek has developed and turned the fairy tales that we've heard and made them into individual characters to make a fun packed comedy animation for kids. Its especially good for the kids audience as characters from fairy tales which they can recognise and remember and be immersed in how funny the characters can be in the end. They've used a variety of fairy tale characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, Big Bad Wolf, Pinocchio & Puss in Boots in the story
Fairy Tale Story: The plot of the story line generally follows the same story basis that a fairy tale follows in its concept but obviously just making it funnier. Meet the main character, meet main female/male which they romantically get involved with in the end and they lust for, some event sets them off an adventure to find either that romantically involved character or an object, they meet an evil antagonist character, come climatic event changes either there route or destination, they find what they were looking for, have a battle with the antagonist character, win the battle, live "happily ever after". This is the storyline Shrek followed which is extremely similar to how normal fairy tales go in there story plots.
